That doesn't call for a blog entry but this particular helicopter flight is something for me to remember.
Because of a certain king who didn't want to squeeze with others on the ferry, we decided to take the helicopter back from Macau to HK instead. And the thing is, our luggage was too heavy so we had to buy an extra ticket. =.= I felt so cheated of my $$ yo.
Ok..and then on the helicopter itself...There were three rows of seats, and four could sit at each row. However, for some weird reasons, we were arranged to sit in a very strange way. Like one in the front row with 3 other people, 2 in the middle row and two at the back. =.= We didn't understand why till much later, when we got onto the helicopter.
Another guy sat a seat away from me on the 2nd row and one behind this guy, at the last row. The guy on the same row as me was quite old and the guy behind him was much younger, pretty good looking. =X And they were both wearing suits. The older man looked a bit weak and so I thought that he was sickly and the younger one was his caregiver or something. Well, I thought that he was sickly because the helicopter attendent helped him to buckle up his seatbelt. I mean, if you're not sick, why can't you buckle up yourself?
Then, the helicopter took off. The lights in the cabin was switched off. It was dark (6pm) and so there was nothing much to look at. The best time to rest your eyes!!!!! And to imagine things.
The name of the helicopter service was "HELI EXPRESS" Darn it. WHat a stupid name!! Doesn't that look like a certain other word? And so i started to think.."What if something happens to the helicopter?" My mom would save me at the expense of her life. At that thought, my heart soured. Then, my thought darted into another direction. Since I was in the same row as the 'sickly' guy, I will save him and help him with his lifevest!! Yes, that was what I was thinking about that yo.
And then, when we got off the helicopter...
I overheard my godparents talking about that guy.
And then, after much probing, I realised that he was Stanley Ho. WHO? Yeah I didn't know either. So I asked my godparents. Apparently, he's this urber rich guy nicknamed the King Of Gambling or something and is really rich, running numerous casinos. I googled him abit just now and he is ranked #107 on Forbe's list of the world's richest people.
O.O
I sat next to a billionaire. =.=
OK~~~~~
Hmmm...
And that younger guy is most probably his bodyguard. No wonder he sat behind...to make sure no one does anything funny. OMG. If I had made some weird movements!! I would be punched in the face!! lol! It's so funny because the other guy was sitting next to the exit, so after he alighted, I went right after him instead of lettig the bodyguard go off first. =/ Now that I think back.....=X haha! And after he got off, people (yes, people. not just one person) came to help him. =.= Someone even held his hand to help him stablise himself as he got off the helicopter.
The life of the rich and famous. =.=
After that, I said, "Argh. I don't know him lah. Besides, I'm not interested in him. If it is Arashi then I will be more excited."
XDDD
And a while later, my godbro said, "My dream is to sit in the same helicopter as Arashi."
My godfather, "No, that is your sister's dream."
HAHAH! Imagine...one of our boys. No. One of the Johnnys sitting next to you on the plane. *melts*
The harbour where your depart from. Shun Tak Pier. The helicopter landing area is the rooftop on the left. =) Had a great view, demo no time for pictures.
==============================================
Aniwaes, on a side note, I bought myself another copy of Raymond's album. Because it had a different cover. There are 3 different ver in all, each with a different cover picture. I ordered one online but it wasn't my top 2 covers (you can't choose) so I bought another one. I had to repeat to myself "ONE ONLY. You're ordering 4 calendars this year!!!" to stop myself from grabbing the last ver off the shelf. =.=
....Nah I'm not talking about our guys. I'm talking about fireworks.
And as I type, the firework display is still on. I'm sitting right in front of it yo so I can admire it as the sparks shoot into the night sky and then rain down back onto earth.
It's really so awesome because we usually see fireworks from below ne. But because my room is on the 33rd floor and the window so coincidentally faces the firework display, for the first time I get to see it before my eyes. (Ok it has stopped...after about 15 mins...) I was just shopping around (Darn, online shopping IS addictive!!! argh..ever since that Nobuta bag *stares at simyee*) when I heard some sound. It registered immediately in my head that fireworks were being set off!!!
I have no idea what it was for but well, the display was beautiful. Not as beautiful as the S'pore National Day displays, but still magnificant. haha I remember making a wish during this year's National Day firework display..and one of it was to get to see fireworks in a plane. I have no idea why I made that dumb wish, demo it came true ne. Half of it. =) Because it would be so amazing and breathtaking to see the fireworks burst into sparkles and rain down right beside you ne. But this is a dumb wish because it's too dangerous and totally impossible! But fate worked its way through somehow and I got to admire its beauty from afar.
Now I get why many fanfics/dramas have this cliche plot in where the female lead says "yes, I do." when the male lead proposes to her after setting off fireworks. It is romantic yo!!
I took some pictures but they turned out to be horrible. Reflection =.=
=) I'm in Macau. The place I swore I never would want to go. I guess it's the stereotype? But well, some people in my family wants to go there so here I am! In the hotel room of the Venetian hotel which has just opened recently. On my birthday I heard. That was why my parents chose this hotel yay! I feel loved. =)
The hotel is amazing. Upon approaching the hotel in the cab, I was already awed by the design and architecture of this place. Once I entered, I was greeted by a magnificent lobby.
This corridor leads to the casino.
That's me in front of the fountain! muahahahah.
The ceiling!
We checked in and made our way to the hotel room. During the journey, we had to make our way through rows of shop. It was really as if we were walking through the Venetian city. If you've been to Tokyo's Venus Fort, you will get what I mean. The shops were housed in 'buildings' modelled after shophouses, European style and the streets..everything was so Venetian. There is this canal/river running along the rows of shops, dividing the streets into two sides. And you can even get a ride on a boat to sail along the river!
The hotel room was fabulous. We decided to get the cheapest one because they had connecting rooms. We needed connecting rooms because I have to use the net, my bro has to use the net, and my goddad had to use the net. Demo, it was a mistake I guess because the hotel has got wireless connection. SUGOI! No need for cables yo!!
Despite it being the cheapest room, the room is so amazing! Look:
Inside the bathroom
Lol the little king.
This is my dream room yo. The living room is lowered...so to move from the sleeping area to the living room, you have to move down two steps. And there're two tvs in the room. One in front of the beds and one in the living area.
And finally, I couldn't resist taking a picture of this:
Not the shoe! The toilet paper!!
Do you see four-leaf clovers imprinted on it? haha for good luck at the casino???
Should I go? To try win some money for more Arashi stuff.
Demo..I'm not really fond of gambling. =/
...because I was out the whole day.
I walked the whole day from 11am till 10pm without sitting at all.
I lugged back to my hotel over 2,000 pieces of mag clippings and 4 mags all the way from Mongkok area to Admiralty.
I took the MTR thru' and fro so many times to go for meetups at different stations (1 per 15 min for 11/2 hr)), I can memorise part of the MTR map already.
I bought so much stuff today.
I didn't eat breakfast save for a slice of apple.
I didn't eat lunch.
I didn't eat dinner till 8pm, and all I had was a piece of hotdog bun and a bottle of apple aloe vera (which was all the water I had for the day)
ZzzZZZzzzZzzZzzzzZzZZZz
I went hunting for Sino Centre today too. My gosh, I had belittledd the Mongkok area. The street names were not clear and everywhere looked the same to me. Even with my *ahem* urber powerful sense of direction =P it took me sometime to get oriented around. I just remember that the place is along Nathan Road, so I walked around and fortunately, I found it. hmm...it was an interesting place. Kinda reminded me of this scene in the tvb drama "A Matter of Customs" where the customs raided a mall for piracy. XP I was looking for the anime TanTei Gakuen Q but couldn't find it. There was DN though...And there was alot of Jdoramas but they were all pirated. =/ There were very old ones like MUKODONO!!!! =/ Why isn't it original?
There were alot of cd stores too and they also sold magazines. There were the latest mags (from the popular Myojo to the less-well-known mags like HOMME) as well as back issues. So tempting!!!! Demo, upon thinking about my 2,000 pieces of clipping, I held back. =/ There were also the latest JE cds yo. and the best thing was that they came with posters. Originals I think. Jap version posters promoting the cd. >_< But I can't bring any poster home yo...
I also went to this shop selling all kinds of idol merchandises. From crystal displays to cups to puzzles to keychains to cards to card holders to mirrors to stickers to calendars...so many yo!! I spent soooo much time there. XP Yes, I bought quite a lot of things there too...such that the shop keeper told me, "Choose one of those cups/crystal displays. I'll give it to you for free." XP In the end I chose a Massu crystal display because there wasn't any other stuff. =.=
Yes. My biggest regret was that I couldn't really find any Arashi stuff. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY None at all yo. Only have VERY LITTLE of Jun's. Haiz. why why why??? I bought some Mike He, Danson Tang and Shin (from Mayday) stuff. =) Consolation I guess.
And the, haha. Out of the blue I saw this shop selling dog accessories. o.O Soooo out of place yo, right there at Sino. Well, my friend's dog's birthday is coming and she is holding a party for him. So I bought him a piece of clothing - an army-style overall and a gothic-style tie.=)
After lugging all my stuff back to the hotel, I went out again to shop around 女人街 before I meet up with the last person. XPPP OMG again I belittled the area. There were sooo many people around and everywhere looked the same. I had to walk for quite a while (10 mins) before I found the place. =) I bought some stuff there too and for the first time, I bargained. HAHA. Even though the discount was just 5 or 10 HKD, I just felt good. Weird..I used to get irritated and sad for the shopkeepers when my parents bargained with them. I guess I'm getting old and my way of thinking is slowly changing...Well, I also saw other holidayers bargaining. Non-Chinese. And they were better at it than me yo. They were really harsh and was the kind was will walk off if they don't get the price they want. Well, I've not reached that stage yet, whereby you walk away and hope that the shopkeeper will give in and chase after you. I'm still not yet comfortable about bargaining to that extent.
My greatest achievement this time is that I managed to survive with my Cantonese.
- I managed to type in Canto-styled Chinese to communicate with the HongKong sellers. There are special characters not used in Chinese yo...I'm so pride
- I manageed to get around HongKong and buy stuff/bargain in Canto!!!!
This is a great achievement because I'm a Cantonese who can listen/read/write but can't speak Cantonese properly. 識聼唔識講嗰隻~ (LOL can you read that?)
Well, about the thing I've lost, I've kind of recovered abit from it...thanks to a someone who talked to me via msg-es. Arigatou ne. =) I don't feel that bad anymore...but it's still unsolved ne...
I'm gonna be a businesswoman when I return.
Arrived at HK at 5.15pm.
With a terrible headache.
And a heavy heart because I believe I lost something very important last night. Not something with emotional attachment, but something very important which my parents will really ground me and be very mad at me when they learn of it. But...as I bear this heavy stone, I will not let them into it till we return because, number 1 - there's nth we can do about it now, and number 2 - I don't want to spoil the holiday and make them bear the same heavy stone. I can foresee a storm coming. They're gonna be so angry with me. But...I will try to enjoy myself during the trip, before I return to face the music.
btw, please tell me - can a car key be remade? As in make a new one for an existing car...since I don't think they have spares for car keys.
To Hongkong. I'm lugging my laptop over so let's pray that the guy moving my suitcase around doesn't get too rough with it. =X
Christmas is drawing near ne...
I don't really look forward to it...for the first time...
because, this year's Christmas will be different. This year's Christmas eve will be different.
After those past 5 Christmas-es and eves...this year's gonna be different.
ちょっと寂しいな~
