We went to do more sightseeing yesterday, with a new tour guide. She's much better I feel, in terms of smiling, friendliness, English, knowledge of good places to go and initiative. Aniwaes, we went to Lotte World, which I absolutely loved but didn't get to ride anything except for the pharoah 3D virtual show. =( It's a place to go with friends, not family. Not a family who's afraid of the smallest things. Aniwaes, I also saw the hot air balloon ride featured in Creating Destiny. XP I think it's really destiny coz on the previous tour, I walked past this shop in Insadong that was used as Yeo Jun siter's pastry shop in the show.

After Lotte World, we went to this precius stone workshop where gm bought some jewelry. Then it was to 63 Building to view the nightscape!

Pretty ne? Looks like Christmas lightings.

Not when you look properly what it's made of. Or when you're in the middle of it.

We wentto the Wax Museum next!

I'd be happier if it was Yong Ha's role instead of Yon-sama's. I didn't even watch Winter Sonata lah! But, just for fun!

Today is our last day in Seoul. And being very very afraid of the weather outside My face is starting to peel and turn into a pimples hotspot), we decided to stay indoors and shop at COEX mall. Surprisingly, I bought very little even at Seoul! Just bought two tops and some hair accessories. I tried to speak in Korean, and I think Agnes sunsaengnim would have been proud. We ended the day at the convenience store, and I wanted to buy some drinks. There, I experienced the power of celeb endorsements. I totally have no interest in the drinks offered by the store, and decided to jsut grab some orange juice and random sodas. And then, I saw it. HJL on a bottle! It was a soda, and so I decided to buy it. When the product itself makes little difference, celeb advertising comes to play. Aniwaes, it was a good choice because the soda tasted quite good. Even my non-fangirl gm says so.

The purchase I was most happy with was the YB Novel part 2 and the Comic part 2. They were both released 18th Dec, just a day ago! Lucky me!! If they had released it tomorrow, I wouldn't have been able to get it at such a cheap price. I haven't really read them (no time) but I browsed through it and realised that the Comic comprises 3 parts, and the third book will be out in Jan. Another thing...I was rewatching YB when I realised this tidbit about the star talk scene. Read the following dialogue:

고미남: 그 별은 아주 많은 사람이 좋아해주는 별입니다. 그 많은 사람 중에 저도 끼어서 그 별을 좋아해도 죄가 되지 않겠죠?
Go Mi Nam: That star is a star that many people likes. It won't be a transgression even if I join those people in liking the star, right? 
황태경: 넌 그런 것도 허락 받고 좋아하냐? 별한테 물어봐. 넌 지금 보일 거 아니야.
Hwang Tae Kyung: You want to get consent even for such a thing? Ask the star. Aren't you looking at it now?

Doesn't this echo the later episode where Tae Kyung said he consents to Mi Nam liking him?

황태경:고미남, 앞으로 네가 날 좋아하는 걸 허락해준다.
Hwang Tae Kyung: Go Mi Nam, in the future, to your liking me, I give my consent. 

I know how that scene of him giving consent, by itself, is a classic scene. Maybe it's just me, but seems like there weren't much discussion of the link between the above two scenes. It's like TK remembered their time together and gave MN the answer she needed.

Also, this link made the part where MN thanked TK for accepting her as a fan more logical. Actually I had a bit of an issue as to why MN thought that TK was giving her consent to become his fan. How could anyone be so dumb with regards to a confession? But with this link, I could see why. MN had heard TK's words as an answer to her previous question at her father's hometown. And when she asked that question, she had framed it as her joining TK's fans in liking him, as a fan.

The brightest star in episode 14...

Who do you think was the brightest star in episode 14?

For me, it was him...

who shone in spite of the sorrowful darkness that filled those few minutes,
who took over from Shin Woo to be this episode's star,
who beat even Tae Kyung's sweet (though unoriginal) kiss.

I think the most painful part was when he asked "why"...his voice was quivering!!

And of course, the song 참좋은말 (aka I love you). What an irony!

I translated the song, which is a children's piece. But Jeremy changed the fourth line for Mi Nam.

"I love you" this one phrase. Such good words.
Words that our family exchange when we go to sleep.

Really, if Shin Woo surprised me with his acting chops last episode, Jeremy did the same this episode. He was acting to cry and sing at the same time. And, in doing so, he had to act that he was pretending not to cry (so that fans won't feel weird over the radio). But he did it well! Hong Ki! Are you sure you're only 19??

I really like Jeremy's positioning in this drama. We have Tae Kyung as the proud, overbearing typical Korean lead, and Shin Woo as the soft, gentle and understanding typical Korean supporting lead. Where does Jeremy fit in?

He's the symbol of simplicity. Why, he wears all his emotions on his face!

His love for Mi Nam is simple. He just loves her as he/she is, regardless of his/her gender. When Mi Nam turns out to be a girl, that makes things even easier! When Mi Nam's upset, he'll cheer her up. When he wants to have fun, he'll call her along. When he doesn't understand, he goes up to her and ask. Simple and direct. No waiting for the perfect moment, no waiting till it becomes an urgent situation. Our poor poor poor Jeremy!!!

I don't really feel good that the screenwriters seemed to be rushing everything. Let's count what was resolved/about to be resolved in the last two episodes:
1) The end of Shin Woo's secret love for Mi Nam
2) The at-long-last realisation by Tae Kyung of his love for Mi Nam
3) The end of Jeremy's once forbidden love for Mi Nam
4) The downfall of Princess Liar Yoo He Yi
5) The meeting between Mi Nam and Mo Hwa Ran (that sickoo!)
6) The result of Reporter Kim's probbing

Don't you think it's way too much? And then we have the real Mi Nam returning. His character is totally undeveloped and I doubt there'll be time to do so given that there's still so much the final episodes have to resolve. That probably means that Go Mi Nam will be a flat character whom we know little about except those little facts other characters let us in on.

I mean, a totally new band member, who Manager Ma says is totally different in character from Mi Nyu, join ANJELL. How would President Ahn react to the sudden change in personality? The fans? How would he fit in when so much has happened between his band mates and his sister? Throw in the fact that he doesn't seem to be a nice person (don't like the bad boy vibes I get from that short scene). It's such an interesting situation, but will not get fully worked on.

18 episodes would be a good length. Heck! Give us SEASON TWO! President Ahn, make yourself heard!!

Here are random thoughts as I watched ep 13 so most likely they make no sense, are filled with grammatical and typo errors and are non-sensical. Read at your own risk.

Just as I thought something would happen, he had to tell her that he's someone loved by tens of thousands of people so it's ok for her to like him, she had to thank him for accepting her as a fan, and then he tops it by welcoming her (with a formal handshake no less) into the fanclub.

How slow can they be omg

Well at least he ended it with a hug saying "You're a special fan so feel honoured."

[edit] ok after watching that scene for the 10th time, I forgive him for being so ambiguous, because of that very sweet smile he showed at the end. I mean, I can count the occasions where he smiled in this drama using my 10 fingers, and this is the only time it felt so warm and real.

And then the scene in the car on the way back to the dorm, Mi Nam took out some mandarin oranges Mother Superior (I have no idea why that translation, coz shouldn't it be like 'head nun' or something?) gave her. It turned out to be very sour so Mi Nam told Tae Kyung not to eat them. BUT! Haha that guy, full of pride, said he loves sour stuff. Recall how much he loves lime! So, he asked Mi Nam to give him one, which she did, only to be scolded by him for disrupting his driving. I see! That's why he said he likes sour stuff when he had actually told her otherwise just an episode ago! I bet he said that so he could get Mi Nam to feed him! So, Mi Nam peeled the orange for him and at his request, fed him a piece of the orange even.

Omg I'm dying as I watch because I keep pausing to rewinding and then typing this out in an attempt to regain my sanity.

MY GOSH!! This one is so cute!!
Tae Kyung: Go Mi Nam, in the future, don't dress up like this and be together with Shin Woo.
Mi Nam: You said it doesn't match me and is laughable right?
Tae Kyung: It's ok in front of me. Don't dress up like this in front of Shin Woo. It's because you're acting like this that Manager Ma and Wang Coordi thinks you like Shin Woo, isn't it so?

And then next we have Mi Nyu appearing in front of Reporter Kim would had confronted the Management Company with a photo of Mi Nam in woman wear...What else can they say but that Shin Woo is dating Mi Nam's twin sister, Mi Nyu? Following that, we have a sad sad sad scene for our supporting male, where he teaches Mi Nam how to answer questions regarding their relationship, such as how they met, their first date, and their first kiss. It was horrible having to see Shin Woo come up with answers using actual happenings, those 'could-have-beens', and how he gave her a 'first kiss' using his fingers. T.T Poor Shin Woo! I guess he's totally resigned to just watching her by her side. Judging from his actions in the past (how he always plans very romantic, drama-like situations for his confessions) and how he now spins stories about their romance, I think Kang Shin Woo is indeed a dreamer...a romantic person who like to fantasize. T.T I felt so sad for him oh man... The fact that Yong Hwa is a pretty good actor as a first-timer doesn't help make it any easier to watch those scenes.

But! Tae Kyung scenes saved the day (Or rather, night) with the sweetness/cuticle-ness. Mi Nam joined the fanclub with the nickname "Dweji Tokki", hence drawing the attention of Tae Kyung, who was surfing the site (and was shocked by the number of fans who quited, most likely due to their scandals as of late). And as the administrator, he sent Mi Nam a pm saying that new members must complete a test.

Tae Kyung: How much do you know about Hwang Tae Kyung?
Mi Nam: out of 10...7?
Tae Kyung: 7? So you don't really show concern about me huh?

Tae Kyung: How charming do you rate Hwang Tae Kyung?
Mi Nam: How charming shall I rate him?
Tae Kyung: 5. 5?! 5 doesn't even count as average!

Mi Nam: For this...7?
Tae Kyung: 7 again? 7 is considered high already huh?

And, with an average 5, Tae Kyung sends a final question to see if she can pass the test.

Tae Kyung: How much do you like Hwang Tae Kyung?
(I'm loving Tae Kyung's expression as he waits for THE answer)
Mi Nam: 100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (And note it's out of 10)
(I'm loving Tae Kyung's expression here even more"
Tae Kyung: Dweji Tokki, I'll let you pass. Well done, you've got 100 marks.

Ok, go watch this part here (around 31~32 mins of ep 13) and tell me if you don't smile/laugh/get all warmed up at this scene. Go, now. I repeated it like 4 times and I still feel like repeating it!

What's a MUST to have when you open a fanclub? A fanclub meeting of course! So Tae Kyung calls Mi Nam out for a fanmeet, and as she enters the room, he was playing the nusery ryhme that Mi Nam sang to tease him back at her hometown (the song about rabbits). So, at this fanmeeting for the special fan of his, Tae Kyung told he'll sing any song she picks...and she picked "Fly Me To The Moon". Don't worry, it's not another painful Korean-singing Konglish moment; Tae Kyung's English is beyond just passable.

Then comes the more serious part of Tae Kyung's mom, who finally meets Mi Nam, and smells a rat regarding Mi Nam's real gender. We'll leave it here for now, to continue with our adorable ANJELL boys, who are threatened by the fake fairy into taking a series of photos as they prepare spaghetti for her. It's hilarious to see how they, on their own added additional seasonings into the food for their precious princess (LOL even our nice Shin Woo). But Mi Nam came home just as He Yi was about to eat it (the look on our boys are classic!) and He Yi asked her to have a mouthful first. So, poor Jeremy went to the rescue and gobbled down the spoonful of yummylicious spaghetti. So, what makes up the spaghetti seasoning? Shin Woo and Jeremy added salt. Tae Kyung? Vinegar. *dies rolling off the chair*

With Mi Nam back home, what else can they do but cook a more decent meal? And so they did, during which He Yi came to suspect that Shin Woo has feelings for Mi Nam. I hope this means that the blabber mouth will finally do some good and help Shin Woo confess his truth feelings. For goodness sake, it's only 3 episodes to the end! They still have so much to resolve!

In any case, I got some kick out of this scene where Shin Woo went to his car to pick up something, and was looking at the shoes he bought Mi Nam when He Yi came along. She asked about the bag.
Shin Woo: Don't touch it.
He Yi: I'm sorry. Kang Shin Woo, you can understand anything that Go Mi Nam does and won't get upset by them, right? Then do you know this? Go Mi Nam likes Hwang Tae Kyung. Do you feel upset?
Shin Woo: I feel upset talking to you.

OMG SHIN WOO! Haha, I like bad boy Shin Woo. Opps. ^_^ Just as I liked Rui when he scolded Umi-chan in HYD.

And He Yi, that evil girl, took Shin Woo's car key and got the shoes out, asking Mi Nam to try them on. When they fit, she brought her to Shin Woo.

She wonders aloud, "Since Kang Shin Woo kept these flowers and shoes at the back of his car, they must belong to someone really important. But why is it that they fit Go Mi Nam?"
Even with it so clear, Mi Nam doesn't get it. She thinks that they're for someone else and apologises for putting them on. *sighs* But I think Tae Kyung got it, and he pulls He Yi out so the two would not be stuck in that awkward situation.
Outside, Tae Kyung shouts at He Yi to end it all, but of course He Yi won't let that happen. She threatens him (again) asking if he's aware of what will happen if he ended it. She will expose everything about Go Mi Nam and ANJELL.
And just as I thought "Not again!" Tae Kyung gave her a nonchalent look and wonders how that will also expose the truth behind the national fairy Yoo He Yi.
YES!! Finally Hwang Tae Kyung fights back. He Yi's look as Tae Kyung left made me feel a little sympathy for her, but nah, I don't have more feelings to spare. Kang Shin Woo is draining all my feelings of sympathy from me.

I really love Manager Ma. Not just his quirkiness, but also how he 'accidentally' can't make it for the trip to Busan (where Mi Nam was to explain things to Shin Woo's parents). Since Jeremy's schedule 'suddenly' clashes with the trip, Shin Woo and Mi Nam went on their own! For now. Because Tae Kyung found out, and went after them.

On the other side, we have Shin Woo who's finally making his feelings known to her.
Shin Woo: Mi Nam, when we go to Busan, shall we say that we're for real?
Mi Nam: Eh?
Shin Woo: You're actually a girl, right? If we really date, those news reports will become real, right?
Mi Nam: Shin Woo hyung, don't the both of us already have someone we like?
Shin Woo: We both like people who don't look at us. How about us starting with each other?
Mi Nam: What do you mean by starting with each other?
Shin Woo: Can you like me? I will also like you.

This is the most direct, most calm, most romantic (ok this is a recency bias) confession ever.

Shin Woo: I won't ask you to give me all of your heart at one go. If you give it bit by bit, that's also a start. I've already started. I'll get in first. If you too feel that you will start, follow me in. I'll wait.

As I watched Shin Woo walk away, all I was thinking of was whether Mi Nam will follow. And then they had to cut to Tae Kyung, which I took as a sign that she will not, and Shin Woo's heart will break once more, this time more painfully since he has already made it so clear. T.T

As with the previous episode, the final moment was a cliffhanger-

"Go Mi Nam? I give you the same marks too."

But this time round, we've a got a preview (which means they're catching up with the film schedule since it's ending T.T) which shows us so much angst.

• They finally realise Mi Nam like Tae Kyung.
• Jeremy bursts out of the dorm upon finding out and seeks refuge in his magic bus.
• They find out Mi Nam is the child of the composer Go, and Tae Kyung seemed to get really upset by this!

Somehow, I don't feel like watching ep 14.

And just what are they trying to do rushing so much conflicts into one episode!?!?!?

I'm more impressed by the fact that the crew got together to film the special introductory video for Hongki in spite of their hectic filmig schedule. C.N.Blue (Yong Hwa) and the one who acted as Mi Nam's aunt went there too. Ah the bond....And C.N.Blue performed 3 songs as guest performers. I really like what I see, which I hope is true. Surprisingly, even Jolie made an appearance. LOL

I had wanted to just talk about the hair, after seeing the latest BTS photos...but as I browsed through my folders for hair, I decided I might as well do one on clothes too. So here you go, hair and clothes, the two most important items for guys.

As the drama progressed, the stylists decided to support the screenwriters' attempt to position Jeremy as THE comic factor of the drama. How so? Since they have no control over the character development, they'll do what they are best at! So here we go, be prepared.

From this pretty boy hair befitting a boyband,

To slightly dorky, but still acceptable if you see it as "leading fashion trends",

To outright strange mushroomy hair, which seems to me was a result of them putting a bowl over his head and snipping the beautiful godlen locks off while eyeing another eye candy two seats down the row
(clue: the one whose hairstyle seemed to be invertly related to Jeremy's hairstyle),

And finally, the one that led to this post, mushroomy hair + rubber band around the mushroom.

And just one different from normal hairstyle which I liked

Don't get me wrong. Hong Ki (Or Hong Gi?) is absolutely cute, hot even. Here, I uploaded an extra picture just to emphasis this point. Here you go, EXTRA large.

But really, his hairstyles are getting weirder and weirder. And the weird thing is, as I watched on, the weird hairstyles start to grow ok...Grow cute even, I guess the stylists' plan worked! Their creation matched and accentuated Jeremy's character in the drama. But still, I want the pretty boy back!!

And while I'm at it, here's how the fashion coordinator coordinated with the stylists' efforts as well.

There were normal clothes that normal people, or not-so-normal showbiz people would wear. But in between, we had

I should have known!!! YAPPARI!

Our Taekyung isn't that weak!!! Though he does care for Minam, it's not a deep love yet, and it's not like him to give in.

OMG I so love the screenwriters. Many were complaining about the kiss (see cap below) last ep, and though I saw it as Taekyung's sacrifice for Minam, I was sorely pained too.

But just 1 min into ep 7 and redemption descended!!!

HAHA! This is going into my big list of 'You're Beautiful turn-around cliches'.

It's faked!! An angle problem!! And I guess this once again depicted just about how much we should get heated up or excited over what appears in tabloids, even those backed by photos. And the funny thing is, everyone's mind kind of affected by typical drama plots such that no one really stopped to think "Hey but we didn't see their lips touch!". We just filled in the gaps with what we expected things to be. The human brain works in amazing ways. Either that or we're just too poisoned by drama plots.

Ok, I'm gonna go continue the ep before sleeping! Oh gosh, I've gotta wake up in 6 hours time!! =S
